Our farm.

Stewart Dairylands Limited is one of three companies owned by the Stewart Family on 580 ha of land located on the northern boundary of Palmerston North.
Stewart Dairylands was established in 1999 originally as a 100ha dairy unit. Today Stewart Dairylands has two milking platforms milking over 800 cows.
The combined dairy units make up 350ha with another 230ha of support land around and in between the milking platforms.

Dairylands 1

Located on Watershed Road on the edge of the Hiwinui settlement.

The farm dairy was built in 1999 with a 500 cow feed pad built in 2003 as a valuable tool to protect soils in winter and is also used in autumn with maize silage.
The 500 tonne dry silage bunkers are also located on this block. Farm automation including drafting and cow monitoring.

Dairylands 2

Located on Kelvin Grove Road inside the Palmerston North City zone.

  • The farm is 180ha

  • Milks 420 cows

  • Production target 200,000ms

    The farm dairy was built in 2015. 54 bale rotary with in-shed feeding. Farm automation including cup removal, teat spray, drafting and cow monitoring.

Support block.

This is land owned by Stewart Dairylands and Stewart Farms with Hiwinui Country Estate also located on the property.

Typically, 180 weaner heifer calves, 180 rising two heifers and around 100 weaner beef animals are carried on support land. Around 20ha of maize silage is grown, 200 tonne of grass silage with a similar amount of hay and baleage harvested. Up to half the dairy cows (dry) are grazed on over the winter.
